The demand for high-quality aluminium window and door installation in the Australian market led to the inception of SEM Windows. In 2018, SEM Windows recognised this need and embarked on a journey to streamline the installation process and create a more attractive service offering for clients in the built environment. Through multiple trials and errors, they landed on a formula that would soon dominate the market and bring greater results for both residential and commercial clients. This experience opened up new opportunities for expansion, leading SEM Windows to the design and manufacturing side of window production.

The SEM Windows founding goal still remains: to offer quality and affordability without sacrificing aesthetic.

Today SEM Windows are industry leaders offering a full breadth service including design, manufacturing and installation of aluminium windows and doors in both regular sites and EBA sites. We now offer an extensive range of product lines that reflect the nuanced needs of both the commercial and residential markets with branches all across Australia.

Our response to National Construction Code (NCC)

Energy standards have become increasingly stringent as per the 2022 release of the National Construction Code (NCC). We make it our priority to meet the NCC requirements, navigating the state variations to ensure every client meets regulations on their construction projects. This shift in provisions has significantly tightened window
selection for the commercial and evidential markets. To meet these new requirements, clients must go ahead with superior glazing models that offer safer and higher performing features.
These new prerequisites have altered the way we think about window design and manufacturing. We now offer thermally broken systems that accommodate the new legislation to ensure compliance has been met.

Our goal is to guide architects and designers and offer them best practice window solutions. Tightened energy requirements have instigated an industry-wide transition to compliance. Our windows make this process easy from design to manufacturing through to final installation. Our thermally broken frame features a reinforced polyamide strip fixed between the inside and outside aluminium profiles, creating an insulated barrier within the window frame. This design is now industry practice, and it is important for consumers to act in accordance.

SEM Windows uses advanced technology to create
a barrier between the interior and exterior surfaces of
windows and doors, improving overall energy efficiency for buildings and homes.

Our bespoke design promotes temperature neutrality all year round by optimising our latest discoveries in proofing materials. Differing from standard aluminium frames, our thermally broken system offers special design features, in particular the polyamide thermal strip, which is a low conductive material. The strip acts as a barrier from external temperatures and interiors, reducing energy transfer by 30%-70% compared to a standard aluminium frame.
